Day 5

Day 5: Analysis of pro and con research articles on “alternative” interventions for diseases/states (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, smoking cessation, low back pain, other – own choice).
 
Work task D-5: Using the following form make an analysis of pro and con research articles on “alternative” interventions for diseases/states

• Select ONE disease/state and find and list all found (PubMed, free access) articles on ONE “alternative” treatment for that disease.
• Select and list articles according to Table 1 in Appendix 4 of the textbook “Principles of Research in Medicine” (from systematic reviews for a given treatment, then RCT and then cohort or cross-sectional study, etc).
• Divide the articles in “pro” and “contra” groups, and in 1 or 2 sentences give the key finding for each article, and then
• summarize conclusions for both groups, and then
• give your assessment on the effectiveness of the given treatment for the given disease/state.
