The Cochrane Collaboration is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the latest information on the effects of health care. It produces systematic reviews on the effects of interventions in health care and promotes the search for evidence in the form of clinical trials. The Cochrane Collaboration was founded in 1993, and the physician who inspired the establishment of this organization was the British epidemiologist Archie Cochrane who advocated the critical assessment of medical knowledge.
